Background Information
Since 2000, Sockler Realty Services Group Incorporated has performed a wide range of valuation services across the United States. Within the past ten years, the firm has completed revaluation and reassessment services for Ewing and Lawrence Townships, Mercer County, Cherry Hill Township, Camden County, and the City of Vineland in Cumberland County. We have also served the assessors for more than 50 municipalities throughout New Jersey.
As the official township real estate appraiser for Woodbridge and East Windsor, we have provided consulting and appraisal services with regard to tax appeals, open space acquisition purchases, and condemnations. These services include consulting on the merits of tax appeals and writing appraisal reports. Peter E. Sockler, MAI, CRE®, has given expert testimony in NJ Tax Court, NJ Superior Court, and Condemnation Commissioners Hearings with regard to these appraisal services.
The firm has also completed appraisal reports for banks and property owners of office complexes, warehouses, residential properties, industrial facilities, golf courses, utility plants, various special-purpose properties, and other income-producing properties across the United States. Specialty areas of practice include valuation consulting and appraisals utilized in litigation for assessment and condemnation purposes, tax appeals, equitable distribution, finance, marketing, internal analysis, and revaluation purposes. All appraisal reports conform to the standards of the Appraisal Institute.
Peter Sockler has been involved in the construction trade since 1978, beginning with residential home construction through college. He worked for a custom builder as a framer after graduating, then served as a County Investigator in Somerset County, NJ. Mr. Sockler has engaged in residential and commercial renovation projects of varying sizes since that time. Most recently, over the past decade, he has undertaken site development, excavating, and demolition work while assisting Atlantic Demolition with excavating, cost estimating, and project analyses.
As an MAI member since 1992, Peter E. Sockler attends the required education programs to renew his New Jersey and Pennsylvania Real Estate Appraisal licenses, and also attends National Conferences and lectures on appraisal topics at these conferences.
As a member of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) since 2003, Peter E. Sockler has engaged in counseling activities relative to commercial real estate for ad valorem, condemnation, redevelopment, and various other litigation purposes conducted throughout the country.
